Indian Village, Szczyrzyc

An old orchard in the Beskid Wyspowy mountain range hides painted teepees – dwellings of Native Americans living on the Prairie. A huge, life-size, fully equipped tio-teepee tent can accommodate up to 50 people. Visitors can enter a steam tent (Indian sauna) and war lodge - a special war council tent. In Szczyrzyc, you can find all things Indian: handicrafts, faithful replicas of clothing from 200 years ago, tomahawks and rawhide bags... Volunteers can practice archery using an Indian bow, learn about Indian beliefs, customs and life, and take part in cookery classes and handicrafts, during which they learn to create Indian amulets. In other workshops , such as music workshops, participants get acquainted with many interesting ethnic instruments from various parts of the world and learn Indian songs. Visitors to the Village also have the opportunity to see original designs illustrating the life of Indians (a warrior smoking the sacred pipe or warrior’s funeral scene). Children and young people will surely be interested in young Indians’ games. Groups visiting an Indian village in Szczyrzyc will also have additional fun sleeping in a real tepee.
